That Jesus lived, taught with unusual authority, and was crucified under Pilate is strongly supported and, for the crucifixion, close to established. Whether he made the full divine claims himself is possible, supported, but not settled here. The resurrection gets no verdict on this page.
If you read nothing else
A skeptic can grant almost all of this and still not accept the resurrection or the divinity. But the cross is a fixed point, and Islam's denial of it runs against much stronger, earlier evidence. What happened afterward is the next question.
